"The finest workers in stone are
not copper or steal tools, but
merely the gentle touches of air
and water working at their leisure
with a liberal allowance of time."
{Henry David Thoreau}
"A gentle answer turns away wrath."
{Proverbs 15:1}
I've seen a few places on
this earth where a river has
carved for us a rugged canyon.
I've been in a few rooms
in my life where gentler words
could have bridged ugly relationship gaps.
As the earth whispers her secrets
to my spirit, my hope is
to learn from her...and to
practice gentleness...no matter the room.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post! The quote about the rivers is so true. I needed this advice about gentleness today. I haven't been very gentle lately. :(
ReplyDeleteI love that quote by Thoreau. He is one of my favorite writers. I have visited Concord, MA (where he lived) many times.
ReplyDeletePerfection, as always!! Those beautiful words can only be outdone by the gorgeous image!!
