Oh, the Reds...

I don't know about you,
but I need things in my life that
{quite literally}
stop me in my tracks.

So many of our moments are filled with
and responsibilities...
all of which can be so good and valuable.
Even the best of the many blessings in our lives
can keep us racing around from one
place and one moment to the next.

So when I find those things that slow me down ~
that stop me,
move me
ask me to catch my breath ~
I've learned to listen.
And linger.

Autumn is full of these
{stop me in my tracks}
So if I'm late to meet you somewhere,
it's probably because I'm
{or, perhaps, even sitting}
breathing in the colors of the season!

  1. I agree. I'm finding that I feel most alive either in a huge bustling city or in the peaceful countryside. The 'burbs? Not so much. Everything seems so fabricated in the suburbs and I just lose my sense of wonder.

  2. You take such stop-me-in-my-tracks photos :) Thank you for sharing. I've lived in San Diego for over 10 years now (grew up in northern New Mexico where the seasons actually change) and I really miss the vibrant orange and red aspens this time of year.

    I'm going to look into your "Six Word Fridays." Sounds intriguing!

  3. Perhaps it's because I struggle with depression and its accoutrements but I look for these too. I cling to them with every thing I have for there is beauty outside of the hell in my head. I think this message is so important and it is rarely heard.
    Lovely pictures too

  4. I agree. We are in a society that is on the move move move, I try to linger and enjoy the wow moments.

  5. Hi Adrienne,
    Like Kimberly (above) I suffer from depression, too. More days than not, it is a challenge to stay afloat. Your pictures are full of sunshine today and it is a gray, damp, chilly day here. Your pictures helped, they are so pretty.

  6. We are perceptually in a hurry - I find that the older I get the more I appreciate the colors, the smells, the 'wows' of change around me and every chance I get, I slow down and take it in.

    Gorgeous samples here.

  7. i am sooooo enjoying atumn, through your lens!!!

  8. And you capture the colors of the season so perfectly for us all to share. :)
