Black & White Wednesday ~ Mt. Hood

In order to get from my in-law's place in Central Oregon
to the airport,
we have about a two and a half hour drive
through flat lands
and woods...

...and over a mountain.

Mt. Hood looms large,
and is always a fantasitc sight to see.
The rocky peak, that towers above the timber line,
plays hide and seek with us during the whole trip.

I'm never quite sure
which bend of the road will lead us to this stunning view.

Black & White Wednesday ~ Landscapes

Two days ago I took a very special walk.
A walk I've been meaning to take for years.
It's a walk across the valley that I can see from my in-law's deck.
Out in the open,
past the irrigation ditches,
long fences,
irrigation pipes,
open fields,
age old ranches
and
all the way to the rail road tracks.
It was a photo adventure that did not disappoint.

{to all my black & white link up friends, I'm sorry I didn't comment last week...
I did visit...but I haven't been on the computer as much as
I've been enjoying my vacation just a little too much!}
