Six Word Fridays ~ Love

Love is a funny, funny word.
If you visit here a lot
you know that I love these
tiny little flowers... smaller than my
pinkie finger nail, they remind me
of my first love ~ the sunflower.
You also know that I love
my family...that I'm blessed with
a husband of thirty years who
becomes an even dearer friend with
each passing year. I love him.
And the two kids...I'm full
of all sorts of love for
them too ~ no surprise there, right?

But on this Friday, I'll tell
you ~ in lines of six words ~
how much I've loved this challenge.
For the 216th time I'll share
my heart, six words at a
time...and say a bitter sweet
farewell to this weekly link up.

Thanks to Melissa who got it
started, passed the torch to me
and sparked this bit of creativity!
Thanks so so so so much
to all who have joined in!
I'm guessing this won't be the
last you see of my six
word creations...I love telling tales
this way. Who knows?! I might
even go crazy, and write a
six word post on a Tuesday!!

Six Word Fridays ~ Hope

{Apple Store reflection in Gucci's Window}
Boston, MA

Some say it's a baby that
brings hope this time of year.
Others usher in hope each evening,
lighting their candles one by one.
And can't forget those who hope
to hear hooves on their roof.

For me, I think it's safe
to say that whether we exchange
gifts or not...whether we've asked
for hard drives or hand bags...
we're all really hoping and praying
for one thing this holiday season.

I can give some to you.
And you'll give some to me.
This one gift ~ the gift of
human kindness ~ can be offered in
our homes, our neighborhoods, our workplace...
Yes, it's the one gift I
hope everyone will give. Freely. Generously.
From one and all, to one
and all. Until this gift of
kindness reaches all around the world.

Six Word Fridays ~ Faith

Stormy, painful, terrifying and grim news
fills our ears, pierces our hearts.
When will it stop, we ask.
Please make it stop, we pray.
We seek out bits of good
and strain to make any sense
out of the onslaught of hate.
So much - so very much - insanity
in the name of ... what? Faith?
So much noise. So much rhetoric.
.....

I believe that sunshine and pretty
puddles will follow each rain storm.
I believe a vibrant, green spring
will follow each cold, gray winter.
But if I am being honest,
I really struggle to believe that
peace will ever find its way
back  into this terror ridden world,
Oh, I choose to believe that my
neighbors are decent and kind.
I choose, each day, to treat
others as I'd want to be
treated myself. This is my choice.
My weapon of choice. I will
do this small thing. Make this
simple choice. Trying to make it
count...yet not believing it's enough.

Join me. I know you will.
Perhaps, one by one, we will
be able to light the way.

Six Word Fridays ~ Thank

Today, I thank God for this
place. This oh - so - special place.
Tomorrow there will be feasting and
family. My oh - so - wonderful family.
{we carve our turkey on Friday
so workers can work and married
kids can visit with two families}

So today was my day. Mine.

It was a joy to follow
all the oh - so - familiar pathways
around my favorite pond. Horn Pond.
I spent hours wandering ~ grateful for
the reflections on the water and
the reflections that filled my heart.

So very many blessings to count
in this leaf-flying, letting go,
and oh - so - magical holiday season!

Six Word Fridays ~ Kind

A kind word. One kind word.
A gesture...or a helping hand.
Can Will this be my response?
Each day. Each and every day.
Each soul. Each and every soul.
When I feel it and {perhaps}
most importantly when I do not.

Now. Today. I want to remember
this: "Constant kindness can accomplish much.
As the sun makes ice melt,
kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust and hostility
to evaporate." Albert Schweitzer ... Now. Today.
I absolutely want to remember this.

It's such a little thing. Really.

But it makes me so happy!

I am so lucky to have
stumbled upon these precious wild beauties.

Thanks for letting me share my

Six word Fridays ~ Light

oh, the magic...the magic of
music and lyrics, memories and lights!

The marquee filled me with anticipation...

That single, grand piano greeted us
and the audience was all abuzz!

This show kept all its promises ~
as we strolled down memory lane,
our guides were melody and verse...
and we caught a glimpse into
a beautiful songwriter's heart and soul.

Her story joins the many tales
these hallowed walls, mirrors and lights
can tell...just imagine all they've
seen and heard over the years!

For nearly a century, this gilded
Opera House has showcased the arts,

bearing witness to the changing culture
through the voices of our artists.

I'll take a ride down memory
lane in this place any time...

so with special mirrors." Bertolt Brecht

Gray skies and still, glassy waters ~
our local foliage nearing its peak.

Six Word Fridays ~ Fall

It's like a fancy card trick,
or the rabbit in the hat...

Take the afternoon light, add in
a few petals and set them
all against a backdrop of green.

Point that 50mm lens...and click!
Hocus pocus ~ the spell is cast.

The camera works its magic ~ and
I'm not embarrassed to admit that
I fall for it every time!

Six Word Fridays ~ Yellow

Whether filling a field, a vanGogh
vase or Monet's country kitchen, the
sunniest of all the yellow flowers
never fails to warm my heart.
