Day's End

At the end of this ordinary
day, I watched the setting sun,
and was struck, once again, by
the beauty of light on water...
by the bold colors of the
painted this grand finale.

It was the end. Not the
beginning. An extraordinary ending. It's so
easy to celebrate and rejoice when
all is new. When life begins.
When a relationship begins, a new
day dawns, an idea is born.

God adorns our world at the
end of each day...just as
He does each morning. I wonder
if, to Him, endings are just
as beautiful as beginnings...and in
this query I find deep comfort.

This week we're sharing about Comfort!

  1. Ahh...this is lovely! Endings mean new beginnings :)

  2. I want to frame this picture! You captured an amazing moment. Yay for happy Endings and new beginnings.

  3. Amen, I love this. Thanks so much for sharing.

  4. what a powerful image and your words so beautifully written!!

so happy to be here today!!

  5. It reminds me of a poster that used to hang in the convalescent center when my Mom was there (YEARS ago). It was a picture of a sunset, which COULD have been a sunrise, and the caption said:
"The sun setting is no less beautiful than the sun rising."
I've always remembered that, and your post today says basically the same thing!

  6. Nothing like a lovely sunset to end a day.

  7. very nice poem, belongs right under that nice photo!

  8. This just made me sigh. Such truth and such beauty.
