Bird's Eye View?

Hmmm....I see some bird seed down there on the bridge.
Is it safe to fly my way down there?
Let's give it a try.

The paparazzi's here....better keep my eye on her.
Hope she wanders off soon and lets me eat in peace!

OK! Got a bite.
It was nice of someone to leave this seed here for us...
it's getting harder to find good food.

She's still watching me.
Food looks good on this side of the bridge too.

Oh no, not this guy.
Wish he'd leave the bird seed to the birds!
At least the paparazzi gal is taking off.
I bet she just keeps taking pictures of the leaves.

is wedded to it, and if I were a bird
I would fly about the earth
seeking successive autumns."

Fish for Dinner!

I had one very happy husband
at my house last Sunday night.

On the menu: Lemon Grilled Salmon

You see - he loves grilled fish....
Me? Not so much at all!

But, thanks to some inspiration from
a fellow blogger, I asked hubby
to grill salmon for dinner. Just
like Jess showed us - with lots
and lots and lots of LEMONS!

Hubby did not need to be
asked twice. He got right to
work, added some acorn squash to
the meal - and - oh, my....YUM!!!

So {I predict} there will be
more fish grilled here this summer....
because to my surprise - and his
delight - I really enjoyed every bite!

Wishful Wednesday

Years ago
my mom was a beautiful, radiant, happy bride.

I never really knew her like this.
Happy, that is.

I spent my early years trying to bring happiness to her
through what I accomplished.
Then I tried to share my life and my kids
with her in order to brighten up her world.
Recently, I confess that I've just been mad that
she's so unhappy
and that I allowed her unhappiness to
control so much of my life.

Today, as I look at these photos,
I just want to
wish her happiness.

Yup, that's my WISH for this Wednesday ~
That my mom finds a little bit of happiness.
That some of these smiles
will find their way to her face
again.

My New Treasure!

I've had an idea in my head for about a year now.

Wouldn't it be great to get a small secretary desk for my living room, so that I can scrapbook while the tv's on, and easily hide my mess when I'm not actually working on the project?

Watched craigslist for months...and finally found the perfect desk! Right size, right price!  So, I got in my car and drove for an hour to collect my treasure! And, tonight, I used it for the first time.

Bruins game is on (of course!) and I'm putting together my calendar for my workshop space.

I can work and watch!!
Perfect size workspace for two 12x12 pages to be side by side!
Tools, stickers etc...there are drawers and storage cubbies ~ love it!
And, how nice and neat it looks now!
It doesn't take much, I guess to float my boat ~ cause I feel like I've found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
