Six Word Fridays ~ Catch

Energy. Life. Light. Oh, beautiful sunshine!
Nothing quite like the sight of
these new buds as they catch
some rays on a sunny afternoon.

There was a chill in the
air... but the glow from up
above put a spring in my
step and warmth in my heart.

My Memory Art six word fridays
Please join in the Friday fun!
Caption a photo, share a poem
or tell a story. Just remember,
only six words in each line!

Seeking Wisdom

If it's wisdom that I seek,
I must try not to speak.
Rather listen and watch and ask.
And wrestle with what seems true.
And be open to anothers' truth
Even as it challenges my own.

When it's wisdom that I seek
I must walk among the meek.
Patiently listening and watching and asking.
Not afraid of gentle guidance, not
Fighting for my way, my comfort
or my answer to be right.

As it's wisdom that I seek
I can turn the other cheek,
And ask, and listen before I
Judge. Maybe even instead of judging.
Perhaps this conflict was sent to
enlighten. Don't want to miss out.

Because it's wisdom that I seek
I will be slow to speak.
I'll ask to be pure and
Impartial, sincere and surrendered. I'll watch
those who love peace and are
full of mercy. And I'll listen.

Day's End

Every day has one.
Some days close and I feel a deep sense of satisfaction.
Today - not so much.
It was a full day.
Got to work early, did all I could and learned a few things.
Did some planning, reading and cleaning.
Food shopping.
Shared a quiet evening with my husband.
Even as I write, a sense of quiet satisfaction grows;
Though the day to day toils don't seem to be
"producing"
what I might hope for, long for.
There is a satisfaction in the doing.
And in being close to those I love.
Frustrations. Finances. Shortcomings.
At day's end today, I'm fighting the negatives.
And hoping for a good night's sleep.
