on kindness

Kindness.
An old truth.
A virtue in all lands, for all times, across all religions and philosophies.
When a friend comes to visit and
arrives with a bunch of beautiful new sunflowers,
I feel known.
And loved.
And I'm reminded that
"no act of kindness,
no matter how small,
is ever wasted."
{Aesop}

  2. What a true and wise statement! I think I'll take some flowers from my garden to a neighbor today. Thanks!

  3. What a sweet friend. I think one of the biggest blessings is to know and be known. And that's really a tall order in today's society of "all about me". You have a treasure in this friend that knows what speaks to your heart.

  4. I have never thought about that. To feel known and to feel loved. Wow. How great to know you can feel both!

  6. To feel known and to feel loved - great words and so true. Aesop's lines at the end are good to keep in mind - and Aesop is known by far too few these days!
    Have a great day!
