Have I ever mentioned that I'm so glad this place exists?
Just five minutes from my house,
it's so easy to loose myself in the woods that surround Horn Pond.
And, sometimes, lost is exactly what I need!
And, sometimes, lost is exactly what I need!
We had a weekend of three random "catastrophes."
One minor car accident.
One washing machine over flowing.
Hard boiled eggs - forgotten on the stove until they pop.
So, when life's random surprises feel more negative than positive,
I head to the pond.
To be reminded of all that's good and lovely.
To have some fun climbing my hill and exploring new paths.
To clear my mind and shake it all off!
Yesterday's crisp, damp air and the hints of red all around
filled me with anticipation for autumn's wonderful colors!!
The leaves are such beautiful colors! They are just starting to turn here but the majority are still green. Thanks for sharing your lovely shots!
ReplyDeleteoohhhhh things are turning beautifully up there. red is my new favorite color, i love this time of year.
ReplyDeletesorry about the car accident, big or small, they can be difficult to recover from!!
no sympathy on the other two, that's what you get for cooking and doing laundry ;)
I've been admiring your Fall shots lately Adrienne... all the crimsons and golds are so beautiful! Horn Pond must look spectacular at Autumn's peak...
ReplyDeleteIt's happening here in Brookline too!! We must find a time to hike this stunning place together!!
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful shots and I love the path. Sorry about the mini catastophies. They are no fun.
ReplyDeleteHi Adrienne!
ReplyDeleteThe second is my fav! I have a pond five minutes from my house and I never go. I hope to be inspired by you to visit it. But, now that I think about it, I have a tiny valley just outside my door. I do go there. Photos coming up!
And as far as small catastrophes go, my god-daughter married this past Saturday. Honeymooning in Maine. Their car broke down 2 hours into the trip in CT. They rode bak to NJ with the tow truck driver. Rented a car this morning and are attempting Honeymoon 2.0.
Shaking my head in Maryland, maureen
How lovely to have a pond so near and lovely paths. The photos are perfection.
ReplyDeleteWow you are "lucky" to have such a beautiful area to explore and relax in. Goodness you did have a bit of a (rough) week. Not fun being in an accident at all. Debbie (you know who you are) was tough though on those last two although she may be on to something!
ReplyDeleteMy northern friends are making me envious of their early autumn. So nice to start enjoying it now through your images. We have several weeks to go before we really start to see changes. So sorry about your triple mishaps, but thankful you are ok.
ReplyDeleteHaving a place so close to just get out and enjoy nature at it's best is great. The photos are beautiful. We're still a bit green here and the weather is cooler than normal for September, but still nice to have some crisp air. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place you have to escape to!
ReplyDeleteGreat fall pictures, Adrienne, they're gorgeous! Fall is my favorite time of year. One of my pictures was shown yesterday on NECN's "Pic of the Day" with Matt Noyes on the morning show. I love that segment of the show. You should definitely enter some of yours :)
