"Childhood is a short season."
Helen Hayes
Snap.
Snap your fingers,
blink your eyes
and,
as we all know,
childhood has flown by.
Maybe not as quickly for our babies
as for these baby swans...
In only four months they have turned into long necked beauties.
Ready for the big pond.
Ready for friendship.
Ready for their close up!
We've got both kids under our roof tonight.
All four of us, after a long day's work.
Feels so good.
Takes me back.
Fills me up.
Makes me long,
not for a return to those childhood days,
but for many chances to fully live this season.
The one we all share as adults.
This grown-up season that's here to stay a while.

I'm also linking up with
beautiful photos - love the third one, especially!
ReplyDeleteChildhood does go so fast says this Mama of a one month 12 year old Blessing. Beautiful captures of the swans.
ReplyDeleteLovely details! My favorite is the third one:) Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel - this past summer, with all its frustrations, felt right when both kids were home. There is a different level of peace you have when that happens and one you can not appreciate until they (both/all) have moved out.
ReplyDeleteOh these are just so delightful! Yes, our children do grow up far too quickly. Enjoy them while they are little...for soon they will be grown.
ReplyDeleteThese are stunning! Enjoy your full house!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that life moves along quickly. Where does the time go?
ReplyDeleteYes life has a way of moving on faster then we'd like it too at times. - Each season of life has it's good points though.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately all my grandkids (actually my husband's) live far far away. We rarely see them.
They are grown so much. A beautiful set of photos and I love the detail of the water droplets on them.
