Back & White Wednesday ~ Renewal

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
2 Corinthians 4:16-18

If I'm keeping it real,
I'm a lot closer to loosing heart
than I should be.
It's been a crappy few weeks.
And I'm not in a good mood.
I had to laugh a little looking for a photo to post.
There was just nothing that seemed to mean much to me.
So I decided to go with the shot that seemed
the farthest from how I was feeling.
I see:
Light.
Openness.
Gentleness.
Renewal.
Spirit.
Growth.
I know I'll get back to this.
To me.
To all things glorious.
But man.
Sure seems a long way off at the moment.

  6. This is lovely & inspiring. - I think we all go through periods like that. It's important to realize that they will pass and we can hold onto the promise that it will get better.

  10. Lovely image and great quote! Put on your favorite music and look at beautiful things. Eventually life gets better but in the meantime you can improve it in your own surroundings.

  12. I admire your honesty Adrienne and for keeping it real... always a consolation to know dark days descend on the best of us (that is you!). Hoping the sunlight breaks through,... as it always does. Warm hugs from the city we love... xo

  16. Ah sweetie, sad to read your words that you're just not on top of your game (as they say). Seems in life those moments/days come around too often, and I think maybe women experience those moreso than men. Prayers and hugs that things seem better soon. Anyway, your photo is great, and thanks so much for visiting me and hosting this. :)

  17. I sure hope things are a bit better for you by now. These are powerful words...and such truth here. I must say we've had a really rough month and it looks like we are seeing the light now. I pray the same for you.

  18. I had to come back to this blog post and read it again. I can relate to how you feel. We just moved and while my heart is filled with excitement and joy, the move took a lot out of my body too. The muscle fatigue from Lyme disease has been challenging. I am filled with mixed emotions but ask God for strength for today and hope for tomorrow. Hopefully we will both be back to our more normal state of mind next week. I hope you enjoy the weekend.
