They say my "nest" is empty
But I'd have to disagree.
For around me, filling every nook,
Are the folks I want to see.
I think of many different friends
Who know what I like best.
Their gifts surround be every day
And remind me that I'm blessed.
The heirlooms I've collected
mean so much to me.
A silver brush, some bookends
Connect me to my family tree.
And, of course, there are some photos
Faces loved, from far and near.
Silly smiles and perfect poses
from those I hold most dear.
So as I sip my coffee
on this Thanksgiving morn,
I know it's friends and family
that I'm most thankful for!
Love the poem!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to describe your home, I too have what we sometimes call an empty nest but now I'm determined to see it differently.
