I started with a pretty frame and some plain little $1 boxes from Michael's. I opened some new Creative Memories Christmas paper called Noel, started to cut and added some Mod Podge.
This is my favorite DIY project so far cause it's for my daughter! She's my Christmas buddy. She has loved every tradition, present, song, ribbon, ornament, stocking and strand of lights since before she could walk! (Just like her mama!)
One of her favorite traditions was the advent calendar. We always had two. One made of cloth that Brian and I bought in Manila, and another filled with Swiss chocolate. She and her brother shared the cloth calendar...taking turns...both hoping to be the one to hang Santa up on the top of the tree! They each had a chocolate filled calendar of their own.
Now that my girl's married, I thought she needed a pretty advent calendar of her own...So, after searching the web for ideas, this is what I made for her! I hope she likes it!
That looks beautiful! I'm sure she will absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful and creative.
ReplyDeleteAdrienne! This is breathtaking! I'm sure your daughter will absolutely love this. You outdid yourself on this, girl!
ReplyDeleteI love Advent calendars, and this one is so lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful and she will love it. You are so creative, Adrienne. Your family is blessed to have such love in their life.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't even know what to say. This might be the most special thing you've ever made me! But I say that all the time. It's amazing. It's secretly for future grand kids, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful advent calendar.
ReplyDeleteI Love that!! Such a great idea! Stopped by from Mama Kat's. :)
ReplyDeleteI was in my twenties before I learned that some advent calendars came with candy in them! My children will never be so deprived. Gorgeous calendar you made!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I'd love to do that myself sometime, maybe I'll do one for next year!
ReplyDeleteHow could she not?!?? That's amazing!!! We're few and far between, those of us who chose the Advent prop. :) Glad to see you picked it as well! See you again next week!
ReplyDeleteI love this! How big is that picture frame? (I am craft-deprived lately. Crafts with a toddler underfoot... just don't happen. At least at my house! But perhaps in time for next year...)
