"Nature is full of genius,
full of the divinity;
so that not a snowflake
escapes its fashioning hand."
Henry David Thoreau
Let it snow!
Bring on the quiet cocoon.
I love the staying in, the laying low...
the slowing down.
I love each frozen, crystallized creation.
I love those first moments,
before the roads are plowed,
before the flakes stop falling...
when the ground is soft
and the air seems pure.
I want to learn the stillness.
The peace.
I want to learn the stillness.
The peace.
I will fall asleep tonight in our world
and wake up tomorrow
in a heavenly place.
Beautiful photo and words!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!!!
ReplyDeleteSo true!
ReplyDeleteHere we go again! Snow day 3 - glad to be inside watching it snow - pretty, pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea too of slowing down and now that I can stay inside and just enjoy the splendor of new snow from the window's view. This morning it is a snowy/ice world out there. Lots of snow with a crust of ice on top. However, it's one of those morning that our dog, Razzy, can't find a spot. He so relies on his nose that it is maddening. Glad I ventured upon your site. :)
ReplyDeleteI added my link.
That is a stunning image! The simple colors and the focus. You make winter look beautiful again.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous and totally agree! Love that peaceful soft feeling. And how did I miss that you do a black and white link? Gosh, I really need an old fashioned calendar. I would love to join you! I'll be back this afternoon!
ReplyDeleteAdrienne, I LOVE your sepia image. Would you mind sharing what camera and lens you use? It's stunning!
ReplyDeleteI adore your words as well, so peaceful. I feel the same way when it's snowing, especially at night.
