Macro Deliciousness!

The fun that I had this week was, if you know me at all, probably not that random. I have loved the macro shots that I've been able to take with my iPhone EasyMacro lens...I mean I have seriously loved discovering this new facet of photography! So, I purchased a wide angle and macro lens adapter from photojojo.com last week. Just a little "within my budget purchase"...so now my big girl camera has macro possibilities too! This, my friends is good! Very, very good!

I'm still getting used to it...but these dried, faded rose of sharon pods....with their funny little sunflower-like seeds inside....well, they've proven to be my favorite photography subject this winter!

Can't wait to re-visit these bushes when they are in full bloom!!

  2. This is great! Macro is such a fun world. I can only imagine the joy once the world wakes up from its slumber! You are gonna love that time! I'm glad you said what kind of pod this is. It looked almost like a cotton pod. Enjoy your new toy!

  3. Wonderful - I love doing macro photography - I do a lot more of it in the summer when the flowers are blooming - maybe I should try more in other seasons.

  5. splendid images. I love the hair you've been able to capture. I am thinking and dreaming about a macro lens but I'm not sure yet what to get. Possibly a lens baby? Or maybe just a regular nikon macro lens. any suggestions?

  7. well first of all - great macro work - but this post also struck home because this is truly my favorite flowering shrub! Over the past few years - this easy to grow classic beauty has been a rich part of my summer! and only in the last year or so did I notice the furry seeds (that drop and spread so prolific) - and I have tried to save a few - and then saw this couple wh was mailing seeds to people for free (and then they asked for postage) but the flower and seeds are amazing -

and in this post you REALLY some of those little fuzz furs and fibers on the seed - breathtaking (to me at least).

  8. Lovely as always.

I've been eyeing the Olloclip for my iphone because I rarely have my macro lens in my camera bag. I'm going to look up the lens you mentioned.

When I bought my camera, I knew macro was the "style" I was most interested in and so I got a macro lens instead of a regular lens. But it remains the least used lens I have...
