What do you see?

"Well it's all right, riding around in the breeze
Well it's all right, if you live the life you please
Well it's all right, doing the best you can
Well it's all right, as long as you lend a hand"
{End of the Line, The Traveling Wilburys}

School pick up.
It's an everyday, ordinary thing.
I pick up my boss's daughter from her school four days a week.
It's the routine - each afternoon in the middle of my work day.
When you look at the photo above, what do you see?
Nothing very special or inspiring, right?
Brick, sidewalks, snow, benches and weeds.

But....look closely at those "weeds"....

Yup.
That's right.
Those scraggly "dead" weeds look like this close up.
And help to remind me that in the midst of all that seems ordinary
there is always something blowing on the breeze with me.
With a little effort we can always find something that pleases
and a way to lend a hand.

And as long as this is true,
well,
I guess everything really is all right.

  6. I agree absolutely. One of the things I love most about being a photographer is that it lets me see things like this that I might never notice otherwise.

  7. They are so pretty. It's really a nice break to be able to pick-up a school child, it's always fun seeing the happy children. I also noticed one other thing that stood out for me. It appeared to be a b&w photo except for the cones. I liked that!

  9. There is so much beauty in the details, but it takes a keen, observant eye to notice. You have such eyes!
