Turtle Love

"I'm gonna soak up the sun
While it's still free
I'm gonna soak up the sun
Before it goes out on me!"
Sheryl Crow

I knew it.
I knew it before I saw them.
It was that day.
That first truly sunny day of the spring season.
That day when the threat of winter's return disappears.
It's the day the turtles appear.
I have no idea where they hide all winter, poor things.
But I just knew when I started my walk around the pond on Sunday
that the turtles would be out in droves
soaking up those rays!

It's as if Kathy knew they'd be out showing off for me when she chose this song!

  4. Love how it is kicking up its hind legs - soaking it up but good. In between the down pouring rain, we have moments of summer, not spring, but 80 plus degrees - good grief nature has a grudge. Our water levels have been fringing on flooding since the first of March and as I look out at the corner of our yard currently under water, I wonder when it will let up. (shades of Boston - only not snow)

So glad you all are at least getting some nice (sunny) days.
