Giving ~ Day 11

"Friendship is the shadow of the evening,
which increases with the setting sun of life."
Jean de la Fontaine

Yesterday there was a phone call to a friend.
Just a few minutes of her voice made all the difference.

From this morning's journal:

Give Away: Shadows. Sigh...I change my mindset. I carefully construct healthier boundaries. I make choices that are hard - yet right for me. Still there are voices/feelings/accusations that lurk in the shadows. Always present. Never know when they'll pounce. Today, with each pounce, I will give away what comes at me from the shadows.

Give Access: Color. Leaves and light and bright pink sweatshirts. Happy music, bright nails, painted skies and a vegetable rainbow. Today I'm looking for bright, cheerful color!

Give Thanks: It's Friday. Which means it's almost time for the two days I get with my husband each week. This is good. Thankful doesn't even begin to cover the degree to which I cherish this man and our life together.

Joining James for

  1. A unique reflective surface but perfectly capturing the scene and its colours! And a bonus reflection in the back window too!

  2. We joined friends at Applebees who were honoring our Vets. Good food and friendly conversation. Time with friends in retirement supports the quote in your post.

  3. Lovely reflection and wise words.
