Here's to Good Friends!

Three gals.
One car.
And the open road.
On Friday we made our way from Massachusetts to Maine...
stopping for ice cream,
photo-ops
and an art gallery open house in a small town.

Saturday morning we might have turned the kitchen
into craft central!
Scrapbooking, jewelry making...duct tape creativity...we're a crafty trio.

The afternoon was outdoor time.
I got the tour of the base lodge and village at Sugarloaf Mountain
{their winter weekend home away from home}
and then we found a little trail through the cold woods.

I don't know about you,
but relaxed time with good friends
brings me a great deal of comfort.

We enjoyed the fresh air, the walk, the photography.
None of us was a real chatterbox
{often walking in easy silence}
but I did find a babbling brook...does that count?!?

By far, my favorite sight of the weekend was all the birch trees.
They are everywhere up here -
lining the roads, paths and brooks
and standing out in the forests of pines.

Seeing this beautiful corner of New England was good.
Seeing a place that means so much to a dear friend...well that was very, very good.

"A friend may well be reckoned
the masterpiece of nature."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

  4. These are all fantastic choices for the hunt and so nicely woven into the story of your outing. But honestly you want us to believe that you three gals got together and didn't qualify as 'chatterbox' -- seriously?!? Looks like it was great fun.
