Last week I was looking at this sky.
Couldn't help it, I just started humming
"Bows and flows of angel hair,
and ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere...
I've looked at clouds that way."
It's an oldie, but a very favorite song of mine!
{I stopped humming for a second, and texted Kathy...thinking of Song-ography, of course!}
It goes on:
"But now they only block the sun,
they rain and snow on everyone.
So many things I would have done...
but clouds got in my way."
And the next verses talk about looking at clouds and love and life from
BOTH SIDES.
And that's why I love the song.
Because with everything that comes along in life we have a choice.
We may not have a choice about much that comes our way
but we can
ALWAYS
choose our perspective.
Our reaction.
Oh, I know...it's easier to type those words, then to always remember them or practice them...
but hum this catchy tune when the glass is looking half empty...
It'll help, I promise!
"Clouds come floating into my life,
no longer to carry rain or usher storm,
but to add color to my sunset sky."
Rabindranath Tagore

Ahhhh "Perspective". It's a beautiful thing....or it's not. Depending on which side you opt to view. Love that first photo in particular and how you opted to give the focus in your composition to that amazing sky. And the colors in your others are magnificent. Love YOUR "perspective" my friend :). And thanks for the song suggestion for Song-ograpjy this week!
ReplyDeleteThat first shot looks so familiar...do tell where it was taken. It's so lovely and those sunset shots are just gorgeous. I like your thoughts on being perspective.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful collection of sky colours and patterns. Adore the rich landscape in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteHi, Adrienne! Yes, that song definitely has the light and dark sides, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteLove your photos and your perspective.
Such scenery! And gorgeous colors! This song kinda made me sad (I'd heard of it but wasn't that familiar)--but perhaps it is all in your perspective!
ReplyDeleteMmmm perfect!!!! That sky, oo so so so blue!!
ReplyDeleteYes, so true! Perspective is one of the keys to happiness, in my opinion. You can choose to hang on to the negative or look for the good. And way to throw down the gauntlet with this song! It was a deep one!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots, and that was a great suggestion for the week! I had fun with it
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great suggestion for Song-ography! I agree with you -- clouds add beauty. Your photographs of different times of day are stunning, especially the one with a line of black clouds above the light. Beautiful!
ReplyDeletePerspective is always key and truly easier said than done. Lovely post and some awesome images.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos! And you're so right - perspective is the key. It's a challenge at times, but it's key!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. I love the last quote about clouds, and I think it is so true! What is a sunset without clouds?
ReplyDeleteAhhh...so you must have been Kathy's inspiration for picking Joni Mitchell's oldie!!! Beautiful cloud shots...especially the sunsets!!!
ReplyDeleteLots of great color. Love the skies!
