Black & White Wednesday ~ Solitude

"Solitude is very different from a 'time-out' from our busy lives.

Solitude is the very ground from which community grows.
Whenever we pray alone,

study, read, write or simply spend quiet time
away from the places where we interact with each other directly,

we are potentially opened for a deeper intimacy with each other."

  3. Lovely. I think when you lead a busy life and are constantly with others you need solitude to be you, to think clearly and to reflect.

  10. Solitude is in my opinion one element of a healthy being - just like nap-time when we were young (and some of us getting old) everyone needs it now and again for a better balance.

Excellent selection of images to make your point.

  12. The last image of the gentleman walking off captured my attention! He seems to have an aim and not giving in to old age. Great shots and perfect words.
