Path Dwellers

shades of gray and brown and beige
now color their world

they leave the trees and
come to the bridges

on the bridges
they find the seeds left by the humans
that share their world

all winter long

their friends leave some treats on the bridges
to ease the winter months

so they come to the bridges to nibble
to pose for the photogs that wander
before they take wing
and return
to add color to our leafless trees

  1. Oooooh Adrienne, your path is lined with some gorgeous birds, and you captured them beautifully!! Your timing on that bluejay image was perfect....don't you just love when that happens?? And the cardinals are especially vibrant!!

  2. Hello Adrienne, beautiful birds! Their colors really pop, they are a treat to the leafless trees. The treat on the bridge is a great way to attract the birds. Wonderful photos! Thank you so much for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!

  3. Lovely images! I've tried for five years to capture a blue jay and I finally succeeded a few weeks ago. We have many here but they are very skittish and don't stay long enough to even grab the camera most of the time!

  7. These are wonderful! I have not seen many cardinals at our new home...yet! The red is a welcome color in the winter, isn't it?
